Charlestown Family Medical Services is a long established practice for families and individuals who value personalised, quality medical care.
Our highly trained doctors offer a comprehensive range of services in primary care, and you are made to feel welcome and comfortable to discuss any medical concerns with them. We have a strong focus on preventative medicine, and would prefer to keep you well than make you better.
We are a private medical practice and provide quality care. For this, we charge a fee. We offer a discounted fee to pensioners and health care card holders.
We have up to date technology and equipment, including online booking platforms and reminder services, electronic prescription and referral requests. Our modern interior has disabled access, & is adjacent to pathology and radiology and within a short walk of Charlestown Library and Charlestown Square Car Parks.
Susan is also (almost) a local Novocastrian, having arrived here aged 3 months from Scotland with her parents who came to sample life in Australia. After graduating with First Class Honours from UNSW in 1995, Susan worked in various regional areas including the Central Coast and Central West where she completed a Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, eventually returning to Charlestown in 1999 to join her father in General practice. They worked together for 17 years until his retirement in 2016.
Susan has an interest in providing Antenatal Care to pregnant women, and their new arrivals. She has also developed a keen interest in skin cancer medicine and has undertaken further training in the management of skin cancer.
